Background and policy context

Article 13a of the EU's Framework Directive (2009/140 EC) contains security requirements for telecom providers. Since 2010, ENISA has worked closely with ministries and NRAs from the EU member states to implement Article 13a. As part of this work ENISA initiated a series of meetings, called Article 13a Expert Group meetings. The Article 13a Expert Group, reached agreement on three non-binding technical documents providing guidance to the NRAs in the EU Member States:

The expert group meets three times per year, to develop and improve technical guidelines, to discuss the implementation of Article 13a and to share knowledge and exchange views about past incidents, and how to address them. The group has members from NRAs in all EU countries, and EEA, EFTA and EU candidate countries. Once per year the meeting is held back-to-back with an Open Day for experts from the sector.

Location of the event

This meeting was held in Stockholm, in Sweden.
